Photographs talk…

September 2, 2009

They tell a tale..

Look deep into them and you’d find a soul… waiting to be discovered.

They want to be seen..  felt.. remembered… and  thought about..

“What do you see in Me..?” it asked.

It was her routine scroll through all old photographs before bedtime..

“Why, I see me…” She said happily sighing how young she looked just a few years ago.

“That is the problem..!” it said sharply.

“What is..?” she asked.

“You don’t see Yourself…” it said.

“No..?  What are you saying..?” asked her puzzled face.

“But it is me.. see.. standing right there in the middle..” She showed pointing a finger towards a young girl standing in the middle of a pool of people.

She started with the details on when it was taken…where… and who all are standing there… what faces they are making and what they are thinking while the photo was taken… she remembered each and every detail as if it was just yesterday..

“What do you think I see..?” she asked throwing back a lock if grey hair.

“You see who you could have been..!” came the indifferent answer.

“You still could have been that… and there…” it said softly.

“What do you mean..?” she asked.

“Don’t you understand… all these years… This is who you have not been.. This is who you have been running from… you drifted from your family.. you wanted your independence.. your space…your career and now all you have are these empty voids in your life that you try to fill with Me.”

“Why do you think you keep looking at me..?”  it said looking her deep into the eye.

Her face hung. A drop came down on it.

“Go fill your life with real people you love.. see if there are any left.. they all waited for you and then left disappointed….reach out.. hold on to them.. they are life…!”

“Go love new ones.. that is all you need…. Not Me…!” Said the considerate Photograph.

Nicely expressed :). One can’t keep holding onto the past and memories.
And welcome back! Hope you had a nice trip 🙂

True! …one needs people one loves for a happy fulfilled life!

Love is all there is.. and no matter how many material priced possessions we have.. still the most imp are the people we have in our lives.. 🙂

You back from vacation, Oorja? Hope you had a nice one.

yes i am back.. 🙂 and home is home.. i mean .. it felt too good.. being at home.. with parents.. and old friends.. 😀

As for post, nostalgia is good and sometimes we hold on to the things in the past and forget the present. The present is just as beautiful as the past only if we could give it a chance.

yes… we miss out on the present thinking about either the past or the future…. we must live in today.. to have great memories and a better future.. 🙂

People who you love, change… at a pace that you really don’t expect! Especially when they are not trained to digest the reality. The drifting part is mutual – everyone wants their own space. Some times all this makes you think – how tough it is to be true to oneself!!

    Destination Infinity

yes we all do change.. and that is life.. growth.. and you need space to grow properly.. so it is just natural.

Looking back at the comment, I am slightly confused myself! Pls ignore the last line.

      Destination Infinity

no.. not really.. i think it made sense..

you must be true to yourself not denying yourself your needed space….
      and / or
you must not impose space so much that you push away loved ones..

      so its tricky…

The best way to cherish old time memories are sure through fotos 🙂 I have lost count of how many times i have gone through my fotos – the same set – in the last few months. And then sharing it with your near and dear ones – nothing else get as exciting as that! 😀

Photos are really like freezing time and living that again and again… truly a great feeling..

‘fill your life with real people you love’ – Hw true

Hw easily we forget small things which bring us joy in the hustle-bustle of life 😐

Really… happiness is either the most easiest or the most difficult thing to find.. it all depends on how we look at life…

What a time to read this post!! I’ve been digging through almost 100 GB of my photo collections and just last week had posted my photographs in a Album which I rightly called ‘Nostalgia’.. feeling very difficult to let go of 8 years of memories for which I had put an end with my relocation and leaving job!!
But true.. how can I collect more memory if I don’t live in Present, go out and click more today ;).. right?

absolutely…! only making new memories can remedy the nostalgia..

may you find your new location and job even much more beautiful than the last one.. and may this time of your life leave many more footprints to look back and enjoy… 🙂

    welcome here.. 🙂
